In 1939, the Union Pacific's Sun Valley Lodge was hosting Hollywood's most famous stars, Ernest Hemingway was finishing "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in Room 206, gambling was legal on Ketchum's Main Street and the first lift had yet to be built on Bald Mountain. During the next six decades, Sun Valley would mature into a world class resort and Ketchum would grow into a cosmopolitan community of more than 3,000 citizens.

Tradition has always played a major role in the Wood River Valley. Ketchum still rolls out the red carpet for Wagon Days, and Christmas is not complete without Sun Valley's torchlight parade. That same sense of tradition and service continues to guide Sun Valley Associates. Our tradition is built on hard work, honesty and experience. Too often such claims are made, then quickly forgotten. In our case, past Presidents of the Sawtooth Board of Realtors and more than a century of real estate experience, work to guarantee that both buyer and seller are totally satisfied. People who live in the Wood River Valley enjoy an enviable lifestyle. With a world-class alpine mountain, miles of cross country and bike trails, blue ribbon trout streams, superb golf courses and spectacular mountains, forests and lakes, the Wood River Valley is a natural paradise.

Though the members of Sun Valley Associates were drawn to the quiet corner of Idaho for different reasons, all fell in love with this Wood River Valley's unique, four-season lifestyle. Over the years, each has become deeply involved with the community.

Tradition. Locals find it in Ketchum doctors who still make house calls, in the Sun Valley Ski Foundation, in anonymous scholarships to bright students and the strong sense of community that fills the Wood River Valley. In the same way, the members of Sun Valley Associates have a vested interest not only in preserving the area's natural beauty, but also in their clients. Experience has taught us that a successful sale goes far beyond the final transaction. In time, a sale is forgotten, while a friendship remains.

We hope you will find our brochure a wealth of information and you too will soon realize how Sun Valley Associates became a "Tradition in the Wood River Valley."
